Cola Protest

It was announced on Wednesday (September 6th), that The Federation of Tamil Nadu Traders Associations plan to observe October 2 as Pepsi-Coke Protest Day.

The Federation believes that the overseas Cola Companies have been encouraged by the Government to develop a monoply on the market via tax exemptions. The upcoming protest is also against the introduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) in Tamil Nadu, which the Federation believes will only give support to foreign companies opening up retail outlets in India.

I'm curious as to what is going to happen in the protests. More information as it happens.

I heard also there is some kind of problem with colas in India. That bottles of pepsi tested were found to be totally contaminated. That the High Court in the country wanted to force Coca Cola to divulge its famous formula so a decision could be made about how polluted the product is.

The problem and doubt is not about the ingrediants, but about the quality of water used, as far as I know.

From what I understand the reason they want the ingredients is to ascertain exactly what is in the cola thereby figure out if there is also any alien ingredients(pollutant chemicals).

Again it could be a clever business plan to get the ingredients. Definitely if that is given it will be in the public domain inside and hour! You know, India.
