Nithyananda Promises Clarification

“Bangalore: Swami Nithyananda of the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam, in the news for his alleged involvement in a sex scandal, will appear in public “in a day or two” with a clarification on the controversy surrounding him, said the Dhyanapeetam authorities in their first formal media appearance after a private TV channel telecast objectionable video images of him.

The so-called sex-scandal involving the godman was a creation of “surgical precision” by the electronic media, which had a “hidden agenda,” said the Dhyanapeetam's spokesperson Nithya Sachidananda at the Ashram premises in Bidadi. He said the godman was now participating in the Kumbh Mela at Haridwar.

“There is a threat to the Swamiji's life and he has been receiving threatening calls,” he said. “We are contemplating legal action against those responsible for tarnishing the image of Swami Nithyananda and the ashram . . . "

Lots to Chat About

Hope everybody is having a wonderful holiday through Christmas and the New Year - the kids at Tiruvannamalai certainly are with lots of days off from School over Christmas.

Hope to be posting more regularly on Arunachala Grace very shortly and still have some very special Deepam photographs to post.

Also the current issue of Arunachala Grace News will soon be going out direct to the inbox of all newsletter subscribers. The combination of bad health, visit of a welcomed friend, Deepam, Christmas, and of course the very distracting presence of my Guruji at Tiruvannamalai over the holidays are all responsible for the long delay since the last Arunachala Grace News.

Happy Buddha Poornima

Dear Arunachala Friends:

Sorry for the long absence in postings but life has been hectic and unpredictable the last couple of months. It all began with a snake bite which I received while taking my doggies out on Samudram Erie for their nightly walk and led to me receiving Hospital outpatient treatment for over a month. Once that started getting better, I had the rather unfortunate event occur of my bamboo roof being completely blown off my roof during evening gale force winds. Winds that have been so fierce and violent that in some areas, even electric posts have been uprooted. Unfortunately my nice, expensive new bamboo roof on its way off was responsible for a fair amount of damage to the structure of the roof. Oh well!Lets get that bad karma out of the way in one go!

Within the next few days I hope to be back posting regularly. And also plan on sending out the monthly newsletter for June, albeit it may be a few days late.

One good thing is that I have spent the last few 'quite' weeks thinking about Arunachala Grace and the possibilities of new areas that would be interesting to explore on certain aspects of the Hill. So look forward to sharing results of my research with you all.

In the meantime may you all receive Love and Light this Blessed Buddha Poornima (Wesak) time. Back soon. Yours, Meenakshi Ammal

Mars Chocolate

My friend in the U.S. just emailed me here in India that the BBC website in the U.K. has an article about the amazing turnaround of the chocolate company Mars (whose products are sold in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu and throughout India) about their decision NOT to replace vegetable products with animal products (rennet) in the manufacture of their famous and delicious chocolate bars. Vegetarians and Hindus inundated the Mars Company with their complaints, demanding that animal products NOT be introduced in their chocolate bar manufacture. Surprised by the size of the protests (and I imagine fearful for their profits), Mars quickly had a change of heart. To read the full article, visit this story.
