I myself attend the Adi Pooram function at the Rajarajeshwari Temple which is located off the girivalam roadway. The Vallaikappu ceremony and puja attracted large crowds, and the Goddess was splendidly adorned in a multitude of silk saris, jewels and garlands for the occasion.

Hi Meenakshi. Beautiful pictures. Do you have any info about the little Dakshinamurthi shrine next to the Ramanashram? Its only a little temple, but there just seems to be something very profound and magnetic to it. Thanks.
Hi Snobby. I've made a number of postings regarding the little Dakshinamurti Shrine (near Ramana Ashram). The most recent of which is at my link:

At the end of the narrative I mention a recent legend which might explain the large crowds that visit that Shrine.
These photographs are really beautiful.
