Early this day—Friday 1st December 2017, Puja was performed on the
Deepam Cauldron in the 4th Prakaram of Arunachaleswarar Temple. Rukku was in attendance.
After the Cauldron was blessed, it was lashed up to poles and then carried out
of the Temple by (as tradition dictates), men of the fishing caste.
Ghee and consecrated cloth for wicks have already been taken to the Hill Summit and will continue to taken up
regularly to the top of the Hill (throughout the days the Deepam is alight) to replenish the Cauldron.
