2020 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam Update

 

For information about the upcoming Karthigai Mahadeepam celebrations at Tiruvannamalai please read my earlier post links here and here.

Subsequent to these posts, here is additional information regarding the observance of the Festival. Entry to the Temple throughout the Festival (November 17-28, 2020) will only be allowed to ticketed devotees. If you wish to apply for a ticket please get in touch direct with Arunachaleswarar Temple at this link here.

No tickets will be available for November 29, the day of Karthigai Mahadeepam. Girivalam of the Hill is prohibited on November 29. Annadham will not be distributed on the day of the Festival.

In addition live streaming functions at the Temple on the day of Karthigai Deepam, i.e. November 29 will also be available on their You Tube channel.

Invitation to Sahashara kalasabhishekam Puja, 2014

The hottest part of the year at Arunachala comes around May and early June and is known as Agni Nakshatram ("fiery star") or Kathiri Veyyil. This year the period ran from Sunday May 5, 2014 and will end tomorrow Wednesday 28 May, 2014.

During this period Abhishekam is performed during which water is held in an overhead container and constantly drips, drop by drop unto the Shiva Lingam.

Mooji, 2007 Satsangs at Tiruvannamalai

We have been requested to post information about upcoming Mooji satsangs to be held at the foot of Arunachala.

"Mooji is a direct disciple of Sri Harilal Poonja, the renowned advaita master, or Papaji, as his followers call him. In 1987, a chance meeting with a Christian mystic was to be a life-changing encounter for Mooji. It brought him, through prayer, into the direct experience of the Divine within. Within a short period, he experienced a radical shift in consciousness so profound that outwardly, he seemed, to many who knew him, to be an entirely different person. As his spiritual consciousness awakened, a deep inner transformation began which unfolded in the form of many miraculous experiences and mystical insights. He felt a strong wind of change blowing through his life which brought with it a deep urge to surrender completely to divine will. Shortly after, he stopped teaching, left his home and began a life of quiet simplicity and surrender to the will of God as it manifested spontaneously within him. A great peace entered his being, and has remained ever since."

Mooji will share satsangs in Tiruvannamalai from the 22nd of December 2007 to the 3rd of February 2008, daily, 10 a.m.-12 noon, with the exceptions of the following days:
