New Vodpod and Photographs

I have updated the display photographs at the left column of Arunachala Grace with new photographs related to upcoming Deepam – as the mood is definitely gearing up in town. Most of those photographs are in fact from last year's Deepam. I have also posted a new VodPod at the bottom left column of this page with the following videos:

Spirit – Born Free
Beautiful, inspirational song composed for the movie Born Free (1966) about a real-life couple who raised an orphaned lion cub to adulthood, and released her into the wilds of Kenya. The video is of a later animated movie about a horse born free in the Cimarron.

Our Place in the Universe
The incomparable Carl Sagan says it best when he says – “The Universe is not supposed to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.” A video describing the awesome immensity of space.

A Previous Deepam
A beautiful, well-shot inspirational video of a previous Deepam celebrated several years ago.

Lingashtakam by S.P.B
Devotional chant sung for Lord Shiva (in linga form) by S.P. Balasubramaniam. Two versions on this video, first -- Tamil version and the second is in Sanskrit.

Sparsa Hotel, Tiruvannmalai
Musical montage of Tiruvannamalai's new 3-star eco-sensitive luxury Hotel

New Videos Posted

Thought it would be a good idea to update the vodpod at the bottom left hand margin of this page. So, have deleted the old videos and in their place now have:

1)
Angel by Enya - which is very beautiful, soothing, inspirational song by a Celtic singer. The lyrics of the song are in a scroll immediately over the Video Pod.

2)
Ramana Maharshi Rare Video - is the second video on the Vodpod. It has footage of Sri Ramana that I have never seen before. Probably one of the nicest video compilations I have seen of Bhagavan.

3)
Chariots of Fire - The beautiful, inspirational theme song of a very old movie called Chariots of Fire which is about courage and dedication to one's beliefs. ''But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and be not weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." The composer of the music is a Greek man, and in this clipping he is the person playing the electronic piano in a wonderful Grecian setting.

4) India My Love
- A music clip of the song "India My Love" by Shantam Arjun, with images of Arunachala. Its definitely one of the nicest musical videos I have seen of Arunachala - except for the part with the bullock!

Explore Vodpod

You may enjoy looking at the new 'Vodpod' at the bottom left margin of this site. The Pod, which is entitled 'Explore' invites you to explore both the inner and outer Universe. To begin with there is a very nice Shiva (who is representative of consciousness) montage. Which is rather appropriate as Mahashivaratri, the major Shiva festival celebrated both at Arunachala and throughout India, occurs (this year) at the beginning of March. The second video is a short compilation of Sri Ramana Maharshi's teachings with photographs of the sage and Arunachala. In the third video, Robert Anton Wilson, the brilliant and witty scientist, talks about perception. He explains how perception is a gamble and how we believe what we see and our interpretation of it without even realising that most of the time, we have even made an interpretation. And finally the fourth video of the 'Vodpod' is of ten extraordinary photographs of the Universe taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
